A segunda é porque, pessoalmente, sempre admirei a paixão, dedicação e garra do Cristiano.

No geral, gostei do documentário, e espero ver o Ronaldo a ganhar a Ballon d'Or de 2015.
Já viram o filme? O que acharam?

Hello everyone!
As you may already know, Ronaldo's documentary premiered on this past Monday, the 9th.
This was a movie I really wanted to see, for various reasons.
First of all, because Ronaldo is the best player in the world, a national and international icon, and without a single doubt the one person that carries the name of Portugal around the world.
Also, I always personally admired Cristiano's passion, dedication and grit.
The movie is, essentially, a summary of the highlights of Ronaldo's life and career, accompanied by his personal perspective.
The documentary opens with Ronaldo being awarded his first Ballon d'Or, in 2008, then we watch the following years in which it was given to Messi (2009-2012), and finally the emotional moment when Ronaldo received the prize again, in 2013.

At a certain point, Ronaldo talks about how difficult it was for him to leave his family at age 12 in order to go to Lisbon and play for Sporting. A little ahead his mom also comments on how it hard it was for her, and how she felt she was "abandoning him", but that it was necessary for him to achieve what he has today. Cristiano echoes that feeling, and adds that everyone seems to focus on his glory, fame and cars, but seem to forget what he sacrificed and how hard he worked to have all those things.
The movie also focuses on the relationship between Ronaldo and his family and his manager Jorge Mendes. Cristiano comments on the whole situation concerning his son, says that he always wanted to be father, to be a young father, and that his child made his a better person (I have to agree with that).

Also, how cute is little Cristiano?
Another memorable moment for Ronaldo was his injury during the 2014's World Cup, and he talks about his frustration at the time for not being able to help his team and not giving his best, but also admits that he wasn't fit and that, if he could go back, he would not have played at the World Cup.
It seems like trying to push through injuries and then regretting it is universal, huh?
The movie ends with Cristiano's ascension in 2014, his best season so far, and the Ballon d'Or of 2014.

Who doesn't remember this shout (vines and more vines were made out of this)
There's a central message throughout the documentary which is essentially Ronaldo's life motto: always work hard, always try to be better, always try to achieve more.
I was only expecting to see more of the player's daily life, stuff like training, going to the gym and all of that. That's because the highlights are important, no doubt about that, but I also think it would be beneficial to show people that, between each highlight, there's an whole period of just working, striving and committing to the routine, sometimes without seeing any results, but keeping at it nonetheless.
In general, I enjoyed the documentary, and I hope to see Ronaldo winning the 2015's Ballon d'Or.
Have you seen the movie already? What did you think?
Kisses from Gi!
